The ways we, as humans, search for the meaning of life, our place in the universe, and the sensations of wonder in the experience of being a being, are what drive my work. Through research of early science fiction televisions shows and the dialogue surrounding the ideals of space exploration from the 1950s and 1960s, I have come to the conclusion that we, as a society, must reevaluate these ideals because they offered a sense of hope we have lost over time.
Pop- culture is an amalgamation of what is contemporarily navigated through fiction. The cultivation of passions from the imagination is what makes up a culture. Our relations to each other reflect in the ways in which we govern ourselves. It is open and freeing. It provides a better network and flow of ideas for creative thinking and social progress. This model: the specimens, the kandor, the cavernous walls, and the viewer, bring out the wonder that these sci-fi narratives possess. Through the ideas found in the exploration of the final frontier, there is the promise of an infinite future, filled with boundless possibility.

Utilizing aspects of science fiction found within our physical space, sensations of otherworldliness, the idea of the foreign, and activation through light, color and reflectivity lead the viewer to a space that edges on the spectacular/ non-spectacular. Ever-revealing objects let the viewer down at the same time of awe, as with a hope for the future being brought anew with a revelation of the same future simultaneously.
